Purpose

MEDICO+ is an antibacterial paint containing silver ions, designed for painting walls and ceilings indoors. It creates a durable coating that provides high sterility and resistance to bacteria and fungi, while remaining hypoallergenic. The paint is produced using modern BIO PLUS technology, which highly reduces the development of microorganisms both in the packaging and after application on the wall. A specially formulated mixture of biocidal agents is injected under the packaging lid, creating a mist that prevents bacterial access to the paint, thus limiting contamination and microorganism growth. Due to its properties, it is suitable for use in healthcare facilities, educational institutions, and public buildings. Surfaces painted with MEDICO+ possess high resistance to cleaning and disinfecting agents and are durable enough to withstand wet washing and scrubbing. The paint is ideal for painting substrates made of lime, cement-lime, and cement plasters, as well as concrete, gypsum, gypsum plasterboards, and wallpapers.

Substrate preparation

The substrate should be load-bearing, even, dry, clean, not cracked, and cleared of adhesive coatings such as dust, grease, fine particles, and bitumen. Substrates with weak adhesion (detached plasters and paint coatings) must be removed. If the surface was previously covered with distemper or oil paints, it must be cleaned very thoroughly until the proper substrate is exposed. Absorbent substrates should be primed with MITECH MG deep-penetrating primer. Gypsum plasterboards and substrates with varying absorption and color should be primed with MITECH LG priming paint.

How to use

The packaging contains a product ready for use. Immediately before use, the entire contents must be mixed very thoroughly using a low-speed mixer/drill with a basket agitator until a uniform consistency is obtained, taking care not to aerate the paint. If necessary, dilute with water as follows: maximum 10% by volume for the first coat, and maximum 5% by volume for the second coat. Apply the paint to the properly prepared substrate in two coats using a brush, roller, or hydrodynamic spray. After applying the first coat, wait for the paint to dry. In optimal conditions (60% relative humidity and $+20^{\circ}C$ air temperature), the drying time is approximately 2 hours. The next coat of paint should be applied only after the previous one has completely dried. Complete curing of the applied paint coating occurs minimum 24 hours after applying the final coat. The paint achieves its full strength properties 7 days after the application of the final coat.

Application recommendations

Pay attention to ensuring the substrate is prepared in an even and careful manner. On new mineral substrates, such as concrete, cement plasters, cement-lime plasters, and lime plasters, preparatory work can begin after a minimum of 3-4 weeks from the substrate's execution; on gypsum substrates, this can begin after 2 weeks .

Before starting work, all elements remaining within the work range that are not intended for painting must be appropriately covered and secured. The process of paint preparation, application, and drying should occur at air temperatures from +10°C to +25°C. The substrate temperature should be between $+10^{\circ}C$ and +25°C. Low temperature, increased humidity, lack of appropriate air circulation, and a rough substrate structure extend the paint's drying time.

When applying paint by hydrodynamic spray, protect eyes and respiratory tracts, use protective clothing, and comply with Health and Safety (BHP) regulations. If it is necessary to take technological breaks during painting, plan invisible locations for them in advance (e.g., in corners of rooms, at the junction of colors).

After finishing painting, tools and hands should be washed with running water, bearing in mind that cleaning is difficult after the paint has dried. The surface of freshly soiled elements should be wiped with a damp cloth. After work is complete, the opened paint packaging must be tightly closed, and its contents used within the shortest possible time period.

The paint is a ready-to-use product, and it is not permissible to add a larger quantity of water to it than specified in the product preparation instructions. Failure to comply with this recommendation may result in changes to the binding properties, color, and paint covering parameters.

Implementation possibilities must be appropriately adapted to the surface area intended for one-time painting, taking into account the number of employees, their skills, possessed equipment, the existing condition of the substrate, and prevailing thermal-humidity conditions. To achieve optimal aesthetic quality, execute a surface fragment that constitutes a separate whole in a single technological stage, using material ordered for one-time use and originating from a single batch. To avoid visible joints, painting must be done in a continuous technological sequence (using the "wet-on-wet" method) under stable thermal conditions. Time for initial drying of latex paint is 24 hours. Latex paints are produced from natural components.
